Are You a Renaissance Person 2.0? An Interview with Michael Martine of Remarkablogger

Written by Emilie

Topics: Blog-Based Business, Podcast

Michael Martine is one of the most bad-ass A-list bloggers out there. Not only does he put a bold, unique spin on everything that he writes, he’s also a proud multipotentialite.

Michael’s the guy who has the guts to tell bloggers to that their survival depends on them becoming more versatile. In fact, he believes that honing many skills is key for building a successful online business. Doing one thing, and only one thing, simply won’t cut it.

The Renaissance Person 2.0

I was introduced to Michael and his multipotentiality through an article he published several months back called Renaissance Person 2.0 – What it is, How to be One and Why.

I loved this article instantly. Michael basically takes the old idea of the Renaissance Person or Polymath and upgrades it, situating it within the new economy. “Bloggers,” he says, in so many words, “you must become RP2s!

(Super interesting, since I feel like I spend a lot of my time telling RP2s to become bloggers!)

The truth is that blogging and multipotentiality work incredibly well together. What’s more, if you’re already a multipotentialite, you have a distinct advantage over certain other bloggers who may still be stuck in a specialist mindset…

As Michael puts it,

Renaissance People 2.0 are the heralds of the new business paradigm. They’re going to be successful earlier than anyone else as we continue through this economic reset.

In Today’s Episode of Undeclared for Life…

You guessed it. It’s an interview with Remarkablogger himself.

This one’s packed full of solid advice on becoming an ‘RP2’ and using a blog-based business to leverage your multipotentiality. You don’t want to miss it.

  1. Hey thanks for this! Michael Martine is a trusted voice, and now I know what his voice sounds like!

Great topic. Very relevant for me as I build my own RP2 brand. I think this is very common out there and integrating the parts is in the zeitgeist.

    Important contribution. Thank you.

    Fun and informative as usual:)

Seriously, though, this was great to hear more from Martine. I’ve just recently discovered Remarkablogger thanks to a tweet from Emilie proceeding this episode. Abe and Emilie make an excellent duo for these interviews.

Thanks Holli! Yup, Michael’s awesome. He always provides me with good advice and he occasionally kicks my ass into gear when necessary… (He once gave me a schooling in copywriting, which I am tremendously grateful for. :)

Thanks Holli! Your “applause” for our podcast duo means a lot! Say hi to Michael on Twitter if you haven’t already. He links great stuff (and is pretty damn funny) on there too.
